Upon completion of this session, students should be able to:

Objectives 1: 

Apply knowledge of strategic information systems to a real world case, namely, International Multifoods

Argue whether the Rennaisance system is or is not a strategic information system 

Determine future managerial directions for CIO

Objectives 2: 

Be able to describe the typical origins of ideas for new systems

Compare and contrast the methodology of prototyping with that of the traditional systems development life cycle (SDLC)

Describe at a high level the characteristics of systems tools and techniques like data flow diagramming, object-oriented design, etc.

Define and discuss details for each of the five stages of the SDLC

Describe where systems err and how managers can avoid this problem
