Preparing For The Interview
Dress appropriately - a suit is almost always correct.
Get all the information you can about the company - brochures, literature, usually these are available at the career services office.
Fill our your skills inventory ahead of time - and go over it before the interview to have it fresh in your mind.
Practice!!! Say the answers to the questions out loud, it helps a lot to rehearse.
During the Interview
Show up ON TIME! (not too early, not too late)
Eye contact is important!
Think of the interviewer as a "hero"
Maintain a pleasant expression - relaxed smile is best
Be honest - tactfully
Remain positive
NEVER speak negatively about an old boss or employer
Ask questions about the job and act interested
Dont ask about salary or benefits too soon!
Take notes - quietly and discreetly - interviewer names, organizations, main focus of
the group, important facets of the job.
