| Confusion underlies the identification of the exact philosophical framework of any method or tool because of three interacting problems: (1) ignorance of alternative frameworks, (2) attachment of concise philosophical qualities to methods, and (3) misapprehension of the transient nature of a philosophical event. It is possible to discuss the effects of these problems by examining abstract philosophical "footprints". The practical implications of these philosophical aspects of tool usage are emphasized by avoiding philosophical jargon and by using a rapid prototyping case as an example. |
